We start off discussing the life of the great Jim Brown. He was a GREAT football player. He was true activist. (He was not perfect.)
This is the second in our series of the albums that changed/influenced the music of the 1970s. The first album we discussed was The Who’s Tommy. Stevie Wonder’s Talking Book. This is a GREAT album. We go thru the album song by song.
Stevie Wonder went to USC and studied music. This was after he was an international star. Stevie Wonder was the Duke Ellington of our generation.
Larry mentions the Harmonicats. (I had never heard of these guys.) He also mentions Uriel Jones, Richard “Pistol” Allen, and Benny Benjamin – drummers for Motown who Stevie Wonder learned from.
You can’t miss Jeff Beck’s solo in Lookin’ for Another Pure Love or Ray Parker Jr’s solo in Maybe Your Baby.
This is a must listen to album.
